queer:raum X Galerie Einwand: Who am I where?
15 queer-migrant artists from the queer:raum collective will take over the Galerie Einwand of the Münchner Stadtmuseum and will develop a collaborative and interdisciplinary artwork, which will deal with the queer life in Munich from a post-migrant perspective.
During the residency interested visitors are invited to attend the open process and to engage with the artists. The project tries to open a dialogue against the background of a noticeable social division, which includes open hostilities especially against LGBTQIA+ persons.
By illustrating the connections between origin and everyday obstacles, acceptance is to be encouraged across society. In doing so, barriers will be addressed that people outside of heteronormative lifestyles regularly experience in the context of queer communities and other social groups.
On six evenings a diverse program of readings, performances, talks and workshops will be offered. The program will offer especially queer associations and groups from Munich which dedicate their work to migration and inclusion of BIPoC, a space for exchange and communication with visitors and friends.
The resulting work of the residency will be presented at the Galerie Einwand until July 16 and will afterwards be handed over to the Sammlung Stadtkultur as a permanent piece of collection.
